Exercise Physiology

Here at Fortitude Physiotherapy we have Samantha Scott our in house Exercise Physiologist. Do you know what an exercise physiologist does? Below is a run down of what an exercise physiologist can help you with.

An Exercise Physiologist endeavours to use exercise as a form of medicine to assist those living with chronic conditions, as well as aiming to prevent those chronic conditions from occurring in the first place. EP's are allied health professionals and have trained with a university degree to get to this level of care. They are, therefore, experts in Australia when it comes to the prescription of exercise.

Some of the conditions an Exercise Physiologist can help with are:

- Exercise during cancer treatment

- Managing diabetes

- Pre & Post natal exercises

- Pre & Post surgery exercises

- Pilates prescription

- Workcover Assessments

- Improving the health of those with Heart Disease

- Managing Neurological conditions

- Exercise after spinal cord injury

Being diagnosed or living with a chronic illness is life changing. So, if you or someone you know has a chronic illness and you are unsure of where to go next or how to help them, come and see Sam, she is in our Cooma practice Tuesdays & Thursdays.
