By definition Fortitude means "having strength through adversity" and at Fortitude Physiotherapy we take this seriously, specialising in giving you the strength to get your life back on track, free from pain and equipping you with the tools to manage your injury on a daily basis

Kristy Nichols - Physiotherapist

Kristy is a born and bred Cooma local and started Fortitude Physiotherapy after realising there were gaps in the physiotherapy market in this rural area. Kristy LOVES the Monaro and always knew this is where she wanted to bring the spoils of her degree.

Kristy completed a Bachelor of Physiotherapy at the University of Newcastle, graduating in 2010.  

Kristy currently competes in the local netball and touch football competition and in 2017,  played in the Group 16 League Tag competition with the Bombala High Heelers. In 2018 Kristy and her partner Ben welcomed little Charlotte, who is the littlest team member of Fortitude! Kristy loves all things SPORT, especially skiing and specialises in Musculoskeletal and Womens Health physiotherapy, as well as Pilates.

Claire Nicholls - Physiotherapist

Claire moved to Cooma from Perth at the start of the 2018 winter season. 

Claire started off studying a Bachelor of Exercise Science in 2015 at the University of Wollongong and changed her career path to complete her Masters of Physiotherapy in early 2018 at Curtin University in Western Australia. 

Claire grew up in Leeton, NSW and moved to Canberra with her family before moving onto Gosford for swimming. 

Claire is a lover of all things sport and was a highly competitive swimmer and netballer as a teen and still continues to

compete in these sports on a social level today.

Since moving to the area Claire has increased her sports repertoire with touch football in the summer months and league tag and snowboarding for the winter months. Claire is also working closely with the Canberra Raiders football club once a month to gain more knowledge in sports physiotherapy. 

You will find Claire in Cooma on Monday, Tuesdays (Late night), Wednesdays and Fridays and in Bombala on Thursdays. 

We are so thrilled to have Claire at Fortitude and in the Snowy Mountains area.

Samantha Scott - Exercise Phsyiologist

Sam moved to Cooma at 11 years of age and has been here ever since. Sam has always had an interest in rehabilitation and how the human body works. She completed her Bachelor of Applied Science in Human Biology in 2014 at the University of Canberra. From here Sam decided to change her career path to a Bachelor of Exercise Physiology and Rehabilitation as Chronic Diseases caught her eye, she completed her studies in 2017. 

Sam is very passionate about keeping active and is a big netball fan! She has played netball in the local competitions and representative netball in her younger years. Sam is currently playing netball and touch football in our local competitions. She has also gain an interest in snowboarding, although feeling like she is still learning she is loving it more and more each season. 

We are so thrilled to have Sam on board to bring her expertise in exercise management of Chronic Conditions to Cooma and the surrounding areas. She cannot wait to work with you, using exercise to assist in managing your condition and achieve your goals!

Maree Nichols - Office Manager

Maree is a born and bred Cooma/Berridale local and is the amazing mum to our very own physiotherapist Kristy Nichols. Maree heads our reception team as office manager and is a very passionate employee who loves working for a local family based business.

Maree loves spending time with her family and friends, particularly her beautiful granddaughters Milla and Charlotte. She also loves camping with her husband Freddy, they have been on many trips around Australia and can't wait to tick off a few more places on their bucket list! 

Alana Nichols - Receptionist

Lan is the final our reception team, she is also the little sister of our Director and Physio, Kristy.

Lan brings a wonderful creative and friendly energy to the Fortitude team and who will be here to answer your calls Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays & Fridays! Lan has a passion for interior design and anything she can be creative with, she has her own online business called  The Mill & Co Lifestyle. Lan also loves to be active and spending time with her family and friends, some of her favourite things are camping, skiing, netball, league tag, Touch football, Tennis and any other sport!
